As the last remains of oxygen has been sucked out of the air, even the numb are experiencing breathing problems. The question is whether this is a window of opportunity, or the last phase before the gates of hell opens. We will have to choose the first alternative. Not because there is any wisdom in positive thinking, but simply because there is no point in passively waiting for a disaster, regardless of how inevitable it is.

Little White Lies
I've always wondered about these things called "little white lies". It amazes me how essential they are to life, the glue in human relations. How often we find that we have to resort to little white lies to save a relationship, to escape from offending another person, to "protect" another person and the like? It's a handy tool to get us out of awkward moments and difficult situations. Little white lies are endorsed by society and accepted as a part of life. Even when the truth is revealed, more often than not, people just laugh it away and accept that it was essential and perhaps, even inevitable ... that is, until someone gets hurt.
Little white lies are more vicious than pure lies, full out lies. It is a lie to cover a lie. How creative humans are! The deceit is double, the lie is twice its weight in sin. Over and above all. the little white lie is also a lie to the Self - telling the Self that it doesn't matter because they are accepted and even encouraged, convincing the Self that the sin is not as great. In fact, the perpetrator convinces himself that he is actually doing the other a service, to protect that other from the hurt that may result from knowing the truth. In reality, it's simply that the perpetrator does not wish to see or put himself in a bad light - he still wants to appear to be the "good guy". Hence, he resorts to the lie over a lie. Little white lies - imperative in the complicated fabric of society. It's all good, as long as no one gets hurt.
Give me a real lie, give me real pain. So I can see you for who you are and from that one truth, I can rise again.
